"dads visit"

About: Warwick Hospital

Anything else?

my dad was taken to warwick hospital by ambulance, after being seen by his local emergency gp . he was eventually taken to mary ward, where he had a number of tests,x-rays and scans. he was told he had to have a lung drained which meant a two/three day stay, however, it was two weeks. part of the diagnosis was that he had a tumor on the lung. in general the treatment up to this point was in general pretty good. when he was told he was being discharged, still with swollen untreated feet, and a virous the staff said that mum would have find a wheel chair as they didnt know where there were any. bearing in mind he could only walk a few feet, this was pretty poor ,but managed to find a porter who was very helpful. since being home, he still hasnt heard about any result from the blood tests taken and when phoning the hospital about removing the dressing from the lung drain, my mum was told to remove it herself.now i would have thought that the hospital would have arranged for a nurse to to remove the dressing incase of infection or bleeding. mum phoned the gp who gave her the number of the local nurse. when phoned the nurse said that she could only attend after receiving a letter from the hospital. they are both in their 80's and live in the country, no car, no bus, so a visit from a nurse is vital. i would hope this could be sorted before ...
